The Lagenweine (Crus) make up the top of our wine pyramid.
They consist of the famous single sites vineyards Eichberg and Henkenberg, oder dem Oberrotweiler Schlossberg. The internationally appraised vineyard sites are characterized by the black, weathered volcanic soil. The porose ground let's the vines drill deeply into the soil, allowing a favourable uptake of nutrients. Due to that our Lagenweine profit from an incredible minerality, which is reminiscent of flintstone and gunpowder. The vom Schlossberg is a Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris), while the Henkenberg, as well as the Eichberg are both planted with Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir).
The Ortsweine (Villages) are our interpretation of a taste profile of our home town Oberrotweil, which is situated in the middle of the Kaiserstuhl.
These wines are made from grapes from multiple vineyard sites all around Oberrotweil. Therefore the vines grow on loamy soils, as well as volcanic soi. The terroir of the wines is emphasized by the fermentation or aging in oak barrels as well as the long time on the full yeasts. As Orts wines we offer Chardonnay, Grauburgunder, Weißburgunder & Chardonnay, Spätburgunder and Spätburgunder Alte Reben .
The Gutsweine (Regional) reflect the two characteristic soil types here at the Kaiserstuhl.
First the light, loose loam, that was transported here over centuries by the wind. Secondly the dark, endemic volcanic rocks. The Müller-Thurgau, Grauburgunder and Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) Rosé vom Löss stand out because of their elegant fruit notes, making them the perfect for all occasions. The Vulkanfels (volcanic rock) line in white and red consist of unconventional wines.
